High-precision measurement of roll verticality of laser die-cutting machine High efficiency application case of Radian laser tracker

Die-cutting machine is a kind of equipment for cutting according to the fixed template. With the development and refinement of industrial technology, the traditional die-cutting machine has been difficult to meet some high-precision processing requirements, and the laser die-cutting machine was born.
Laser die-cutting machine (also known as digital die-cutting) uses laser instead of traditional die-cutting cutter, and the laser is directly controlled by the computer for cutting, with high accuracy, and is not limited by the complexity of graphics. It can cut the cutting requirements that are difficult to complete by traditional cutter.

High-precision measurement needs to ensure efficient processing
The laser die-cutting machine has higher accuracy and efficiency, so when it carries out equipment installation and joint debugging, the requirements for installation error of each component are also more strict.
For example, in this case, we will detect and adjust the verticality error of the roll of a certain type of laser die-cutting machine to the fixed base plane (please refer to Figure 1 for schematic). Because this laser die-cutting machine is a type of high-speed processing, it can cut and process 60 meters of processed materials every minute. When working together, all rollers need to rotate at high speed, so the smaller the parallelism error between the rollers, the better the overall processing quality can be guaranteed.

In this case, we evaluate the parallelism between the rollers by evaluating the perpendicularity of the rollers to the mounting base surface; The smaller the perpendicularity error between each roll and the mounting base surface, the better the parallelism between each roll. The requirement for verticality error in this measurement is 0.05mm.
Operation steps
In practical operation, the following four steps can be taken to achieve the analysis and evaluation of the perpendicularity error of each roll to the installation base surface with extremely high measurement accuracy:

1. Equipment deployment
Just place the Radian laser tracker around the laser die-cutting machine to be tested, connect the laptop and start it, and Radian will be ready to provide accurate measurement at any time.

2. Collect measurement data
Operating the target ball of the laser tracker with a hand-held built-in prism, Radian will shoot a laser from the position of the laser head to the center of the target ball and track the position of the target ball in real time. The operator uses the target ball to touch the position to be measured, and then the Radian laser tracker quickly collects the spatial coordinates of the position point at a speed of 1000 points/second, and transmits the data signal to the Measurement Software of the notebook computer for recording, for later data analysis.
In this case, it is necessary to analyze and evaluate the perpendicularity error data of each roll and the installation base surface. The operator first uses the target ball to collect several points on the installation base surface, and then collect and generate the data information of the installation base surface; Then use the target ball to touch the surface of each roll respectively to complete the data collection of each roll. 3. Software analysis
The collected data will be transferred to the measurement software in the notebook computer and analyzed.
In this case, the spatial coordinate data of the installation base surface and each roll are collected respectively. According to these data, the shape and position information of the installation base surface and the roll can be generated and displayed to the operator digitally in the measurement software, and the relevant shape and position tolerance data report can be automatically generated. The perpendicularity error information of each roll to the base plane is clear at a glance. (Please refer to Figure 4 for schematic)
4. Adjustment and verification
After obtaining the perpendicularity error of each roll relative to the installation base surface, if it is out of tolerance, fine-tune the out-of-tolerance roll, and take data again for analysis and verification, so as to successfully realize the overall joint adjustment of the equipment.
