The importance of high-power laser cutting machine and inspection
With the rapid development of the mechanical industry, laser cutting machines have been applied in more and more fields, and the working efficiency and cutting ability have been significantly improved. The power of the laser cutting machine has developed from the early hundred watts and kilowatts to the present ten thousand watts. The thickness and working efficiency of the cutting workpiece have been greatly improved. The detection of linearity and straightness error parameters is the key item of laser cutting machine tool detection. Using the XD LASER – 3D laser interferometer of API brand, the linearity and straightness error parameters can be detected synchronously in the case of a single installation, and real-time adjustment guidance can be provided to truly achieve accuracy and efficiency. The following three test examples fully demonstrate the powerful functions of XD LASER:
1. Incoming material inspection of additional parts of bed machine

The accuracy of the guide rail and rack mounting surface directly affects the running track and accuracy of the machine tool. During operation, install the XD LASER laser interferometer and align the optical path. Simply set the software to read the straightness error of the guide rail mounting surface from the computer screen. The position beyond the range can be corrected in real time.

2. Precision control during guide rail installation
In the traditional way, the installation of the long-stroke guide rail basically depends on the processed step edge, and the straightness completely depends on the machining accuracy of the machine tool. The parallelism of the two rails in the mutual measurement is only relatively parallel, just like the rail of the train, which has large bending, and the installation of the XD LASER laser interferometer can well avoid this phenomenon.
The operator only needs to fix the reflector of the XD LASER laser interferometer on the rail slider, simply adjust the optical path, and then use the guide rail straightness adjustment measurement function in the XD Laser Interferometer software to detect the guide rail straightness accuracy in real time and assist in installation.

3. Detection of positioning accuracy and repeatability
After the machine tool is just assembled, it often fails to meet the processing accuracy requirements of the end user, because this includes installation error, rack pitch error, servo system pulse error, and so on.
The linear measurement function of the XD LASER laser interferometer can measure the accuracy error of each segment of the machine tool operation. After the measured error data is imported into the CNC system for compensation, the processing accuracy can be greatly improved.

About XD LASER laser interferometer
In this case, based on the detection requirements of the laser cutting machine, the 3D model XD LASER laser interferometer is used. One installation can simultaneously provide three parameters of linear positioning error (including positioning accuracy, repeated positioning accuracy, reverse clearance) and straightness (XX direction and YY direction) of the linear axis.
